FRONT COVER IMAGE

My research taught me of the importance of strong images in my front cover. I took images of my friend Jayne, she is portraying 'Daisy Love' an 18 year old pop sensation. We considered her hair, make up and dress before taking the photographs. We have styled her in a casual manner to seem approachable , youthful and friendly character. This will appeal to my target audience. i took many images using this camera provided by college;

.

At first the images were not successful, i wasn't completely familiar with this particular camera i soon mastered the technique . Initially my friend Jayne's poses were not strong enough however after a while i believe the photo's began to appear proffessional, below are a few examples of the images we captured;

1. i like the obscure pose on this image, i believe it would capture audience's attention however i want 'daisy's' face to be completely visible as the artists are on the magazines i have researched. This is so i would advertise her feature as much as possible.

This is a typical pose used on magazine covers. The model is portraying confidence beauty and fun! i am pleased with this image as it is an ideal image for my genre. I believe the images of 'Daisy' are believable as a popstar. The styling in this image is also successful. I am keen to use this image i will however, perhaps edit the brightness and contrast later on photoshop.

I like this image, mainly for the expression of the model and the message she's conveying. Typical of a popstar she as lot's of confidence and as a young singer she is playful with the camera. I'm unsure however if this image is appropriate for a front cover, or would infact challenge the conventions of the wholesome pop star image mainly shown on the front cover. I am sugegsting instead, i use this image for the feature story i will compose about 'daisy love'.

I have decided to use the second example above. It's a typical pose and adds a proffessional quality to my production..Using photoshop i hope to edit the image and combine it with my developed logo. hopefully they will look well together.
