EVALUATION QUESTION 3

Both IPC Media and Bauer are very large publishing companies. IPC is based in the UK and distributes magazines such as NME. Bauer, the distributor of Kerrang! is based in Germany and distributes internationally. I think either of these institutions would be interested in distributing my magazines as they already distribute similar publications which have been successful.

IPC Media produces and distributes over 85 iconic media brands, with their print brands alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 44% of UK men - almost 27 million UK adults.

Bauer Media is Europe's largest privately owned media publishing group. The group is a worldwide media empire offering over 230 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations.

Here are some popular music magazines and their usual prices:

After studying the prices of these three publications, I decided to price my magazine somewhere in between NME and Kerrang! as I feel that Q magazine is aimed at an older audience and so is more expensive whereas Kerrang! and NME both essentially share the same target audience as my magazine (young adults). I ended up pricing my magazine at £2.90 and I think that this is a reasonable price.
