Contents Layout
My contents breaks all convetions of a media magazine. Looking at research and excisting contents pages mine uses a grunge look to the exteme. With the splats, tape, polaroids and worn edges it is an exteme contents in comparison to Q, NME and Kerrang!
Front Cover Layouts

For the front cover layout i kept within all conventions of music magazine. The title i kept at the top of the page. The main story running about two thirds down the page across the width of the page and the stories running along the sides.

Again i think i kept with the convections for my DP spread. I had a title on the top saying the name of my artist, a sub heading and quotes. I think maybe the arrangement of the text is unconventional as it slides off in a diagonal line.
Props And Costume.

The only prop i used in my media was a 1950's style microphone. I used this because it is quite modern now to use these in video's and magazines. And example of this is in Miley Cyrus's Party In The USA.
The biggest prop i used has to be the location. Without the graffitied walls, wet concrete and run down surrounding i wouldn't have created the genre or style for my magazine. Because the location, and prop are used alot in magazines i think this keeps to the conventions of a music magazine.
To suit the music and magazine genre i chose clothes with a rocker theme. Slasher leggings, leather jacket and military boots.
Images

The photoshoot i dressed my model in the sutible clothing and styled the hair with a full fringe and the make-up with bright red lip-stick and dark eye shadow.
The effects i used sin city as inspiration. With the location being wet it made adding rain and "wet look" clothing alot easier. It also made it look realistic. This dark gothic look suited my magazine genre perfectly.
Contents
The pictures and poses of my contents represents the type of magazine i have made. For the rock front cover to the indie and R&B contents it shows how i have made the magazine quite broad .
Fonts

Most of my fonts keep with conventions of a magazine except for the second font. This "scratchy" font i have never seen in a magazine before. I think this could be because it is scruffy. Scruffy writing is hard to read and can confuse a reader, however i like this font. I made sure on Photoshop that the letters were spread from each other so it was legible. This font is bold and unique. It keeps with my theme and it works in my magazine.
The Title.

The title CRANK IT UP is very typical of a magazine and it suggests music. Like the magazine Q which stands for Que The Music, i used a common phase reference in music for my magazine. This therefore keeps with the conventions of a magazine.
People

I used a range of people in my magazine. I used all teenage models (16 - 19) as it suits my target audience. This doesnt really fit the conventions of a music magazine but if i had more time to create a whole magazine i would have definitely used older people.
