Creating The Two Page Spread

I decided to create the two page spread using Microsoft Publisher. I created a layered effect by purposely overlapping some of the images, and I kept to the same colourscheme shown on the front cover. I decided to use a black background rather than a white on because I think it compliments the colours of the photo better, and it also allowed me to create white text boxes for a large contrast.

I created the title in the same way that I created the subtitle on the front cover, by selecting the area behind the text and using the paint bucket tool to make it red. As for the title "James Fairhurst" I used the same image file as on the front cover.

For the photo of Jamie, I purposely chose a photo of him in which the light is obviously stronger on one side than the other. I decided to do this because I think it looks quite effective on a dark background because it looks like a purposely done lowlight photo.

Another thing that I created was the CD shown in the bottom right, to make this I used a photo that I took of Jamie which I converted to black and white. I then took the image and edited it using the lasso tool so that it would be on top of the stock photo of a cd case that I found.

One more thing that I did was making the coiled wire shown at the middle right, I didi this by taking a picture of a guitar lead, then using the magic wand and the lasso tool in Photoshop to remov the background.
