Throughout this production we have included different types of sound from non- diagetic to diagetic. For the opening scenes we have used 'N.E.R.Ds Everebody Nose' because the lyrics and beat of the song reflects the personality of the leading role. The uptempo and funky tune of the song creates an vibe that imitates both Suberbad and the typical hormonal teenage boy persona.
The first scene is a dance scene, so the sound is cut out to acompany the noise of the song. We have included certain diagetic sounds, such as the bum slap which will add a more authentic touch to the peice whilst maintaining the beat and the rhythm.
This song then fades out as the credits role in, then leading to verisimilitude in sounds which makes an obvious change to the scene and the environment in order to get the audiences awareness. the sounds of doors opening, chatter in the hallway lead to dialogue for the next scene including Emma and Joe.
We have constantly used the 'expontential fade' feature and the 'constant gain' feature between clips so that the film doesnt lose its flow.
we have used a variety of songs to reflect the mood:
N.E.R.D - is a bodacious and flamboyant song about getting girls attention
Marvin Gaye - the mood is in the title (lets get it on) which sets the elicite mood of romance and displays the sexual propriety
Etta James (at last) - is to show that hes a changed man as soon as he see's the girl of his dreams, a song that will create suspense throughtout the film as a reminder of the girl he is in love with
