EVALUATION QUESTION 1

The style of my magazine is similar to that of existing music magazines, such as Kerrang! and NME. I tried to keep a simple yet eye-catching colour scheme of black, white, orange and yellow, used a lot of grungy and bold fonts, and also added a lot of ripped edges to my images to give my magazine 'attitude'. After considering various names, I decided to call my magazine 'FUSE' as it is short, catchy and can be related to music, giving the impression of a modern, exciting music magazine. The genre of my magazine is Indie/Alternative and I feel that I have successfully portrayed this through choice of fonts, colours, photographs, and the written content of my magazine.

The two main props that I used for my photographs were an acoustic guitar and a rainbow slinky toy. I chose to use a guitar as it is a very common, stereotypical prop used in music magazines, particularly those like NME The slinky I thought was a very unusual and interesting choice, and I felt that it would add a lot of colour and originality to my magazine.
