To make sure that my final product or magazine is as professional looking as possible, I needed to conduct some research into magazines so I could see what they do and how I could recreate it but using my own unique designs.

There are many music magazines out there. Below is a list of some magazines and an example of their cover. Each magazine has different but yet effective style.

Vibe Magazine

Rolling Stones

I’ve decided that the Rolling stones magazine is probably more of the direction I want to go in as, to me, it is more creative. For example, the cover featuring ‘Lady GaGa’ is a lot more pleasing to the eye than say the cover of Vibe featuring ‘Lil Wayne’.

I think that Vibe is a magazine which is aimed more at a ‘Rap’ or ‘Urban’ musical taste where as ‘Rolling Stones’ is quite varied and has featured different stars which come from all different backgrounds and styles of music.

‘Q magazine’ I think are more of a British version of ‘Rolling Stones’. There style is more sophisticated than their American rival but the wild designs of Rolling Stones probably are why they are more popular.

‘Top of the pops’ is more of a teen girl magazine and for the idea that I have in my head of what I want to do, I do not thinks this style will be suitable enough.
