Another magazine that I have researched is kerrang, it is a rock music magazine aimed at a teenage audience, their magazines usually have a more complicated layouts with lots of effects applied to images and text to make it have more impact on a teenage audience. It doesn't have a colour scheme as such so varies greatly from magazine to magazine.

This double page spread of Greenday is a more simple layout, it has one large photo on the left, with the text on an orange background, with a small black text box aswell.

This double page spread is more complex, with a large black and white photo on the left with grunge style titles on green boxes. It has lots of sub headings that are highlighted in green and it stands out because it is a bright colour.

A typical contents page for Kerrang has a large photo on the top left, with lots of other smaller photos around it with page numbers on them. This makes it easy for the reader to find the article they are looking for, and it also looks better than a large block of text. Like the cover, the colour scheme of this page often changes dependent on the photos.
This front cover has a large photo of a musians face with the large grunge style title over the top of it. It has a few other boxes with photos in them, and also has a bar at the top and the bottom with names of bands in block capitals so they stand out. The bright contrasting colours of yellow black and white stands out and would make it appealing to the intended audience.

This cover has a different layout because it has a band on the front cover rather than one person. It follows a red and black colour scheme and also has lots of photos on it. It also has the bands name as a sub title which also leaps out at the reader.
This cover has lots of photos on angles to advertise the free stickers included with this issue, it also has the standard bars at the top and bottom with band names to stand out.
