Double page spread

In my double page spread i planned to have writing on one side while the model was on the other side of the page. Because i am using my picture for the whole double page i need to make the background a single colour. I decided black because it fits better with the picture.

I tried using the burn tool but it still showed bits of the background. This means i will need to use the brush tool. I also hated the round brush i used. It looks very bad and doesnt fit with the magazine theme.

I like this blended grunge brush found on photoshop. It fits with the magazines theme but it doesnt look very professional as it looks like it should blend in with the wall and it doesnt do this. It looks as if it is just slapped onto the image.

After experimenting with the grunge brush i couldnt get it to look part of the image. Instead i tried to use this as an advantage by using a brush which looks like a paint brush has been wiped over the image. I like the horizontal one, but it makes my model look short.

This is the vertical brush which gives the same effect but with the long down strokes it makes her look taller.
