After experiencing the editing process involved in the production of a short clip, we can make future pieces of film with more techniques such as quicker cuts and focusing on continuity errors. More interesting shots could also be advantageous, like match-on-action (which could have boosted the effect of opening the door).
The dialogue sequence could have had at least 3 or 4 additional cuts and shots, such as close-up and over the shoulder to keep it pacy and show the characters expressions more clearly/effectively. The shots we used were effective in themselves - e.g. mid shot facing the door, which focused the attention on the primary character and the mid long shot from the corner of the room, which captured the effect of the proxemics between the actors.
